Helping Disabled Athletes in Frankfurt, Germany – June 2009

On June 17, 2009, 62 First Data employees participated in the 17th annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt, Germany, where 800 employees live and work. The 3.5-mile (5.6K) race, which raises funds for disabled youth athletes, featured a total of 69,042 registered runners from 2,708 companies throughout Germany, and claims to be the largest road race of any distance in the world thus far this year. It generated a charitable donation of over 200,000 euros to the German Sport Aid Foundation (Deutsche Sporthilfe).

Providing our Products and People to Help Children’s Hospital of Denver – March 2009

First Data employees in Denver joined more than 700 local volunteers to help raise over $1.4 million for The Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. During a three-day “Radiothon,” employees processed donations received over the telephone using First Data wireless credit card terminals. First Data donates online giving solutions and wireless credit card terminals to the Children’s Hospital Foundation. This partnership is part of our community involvement initiative to provide payment technology and expertise to select local charities in order to help them improve their fundraising efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Showing Heart with Food Drive Donations for the Holidays – December 2008

As the December 2008 holidays approached, First Data provided an opportunity for employees to help address the needs of our food banks by participating in a company-wide food drive. Employees showed they were up to the challenge by collecting more than 9.5 tons of food. First Data also made a $2,000 cash donation to each of nine food banks in our largest employee locations in the U.S. including: Denver, Colorado; Omaha, Nebraska; and Atlanta, Georgia.
